From the working class city of Pittsburgh, Jack Wilson has always felt that he belonged in the big city of New York because of its heavy Hip-Hop culture. An outlier in his own right with a catalog that stretches far beyond our average artist, he stepped outside of his comfort zone and moved to New York City. It was during that move when he was introduced to an amazing producer from France by the name of Keor Meteor and the two of them created music that reflected their truths, very lyrically raw and reflective of hip hop's golden era. It wasn't until mid 2015 that Jack would be Introduced to the young aspiring MC from Crown Heights Brooklyn named Walky Ken Wah. While partying on a late night in Brooklyn, the two made an acquaintance shared their bodies of work - but their collaborative "Brookburgh" project wouldn't begin to manifest until the beginning of 2016. The rhythmic, beat-boasting, lyrically-Inclined 9 track Ep takes us on a trip down memory lane, paying homage to the golden era and mirroring such rap groups as A Tribe Called Quest, Da Bush Babees, and the Fugees to name a few. When asked about the process of the album, the two say that
It happened very organically... the synergy was prevalent from the get-go.
The album also features Kiera Zee from Pittsburgh on "Destiny" and Crizo x from Brooklyn on "Hurt No More." In an era of the microwave generation, this project serves as food for the soul because (in the words of Big Krit) "If it ain't made with with love than it ain't fit to serve." Jack and Walky are two mad scientists who have concocted a sonic gumbo that will ultimately last forever.
